The magisterial inquiry against former Director of Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) DIG Nalaka De Silva over a complaint that he had allegedly plotted to assassinate former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defense Secretary and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was today fixed for July 19 by Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court. The progress of the investigations into the alleged assassination plot is to be evaluated on the next hearing date.
The Criminal Investigations Department had earlier informed the court that they were conducting an investigation to identify Nalaka Silva’s connection with drug kingpin Makandure regarding this incident.
The CID had commenced investigations into this incident based on a complaint lodged by the operations director of the anti-corruption movement, Namal Kumara.
