Medical specialists appeal to teacher unions to suspend protests and extend solidarity

Urgent appeal to the teacher fraternity and the authoritiesAssociation of Medical Specialists is appealing to principal and teacher trade unions to temporarily suspend their protest campaign for the country’s welfare but are making it clear they stand in solidarity with them. They are also calling on the government to start a dialogue at the highest level with these unions to address their demands.
Issuing a statement a short while ago the Association said they salute the action taken by these unions to address long unattended and neglected demands.
‘No educated person will be able to put a price tag on your sacrifices to keep children’s hopes alive by engaging in online education with virtually no state patronage and incentives’, their statement said.
They express concern about ‘crafty politicians ‘ holding teachers responsible for a Delta cluster if the pandemic reaches catastrophic levels.
