The report of the Minister of Power and Energy for the removal of the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Mr. Janaka Ratnayake, from that position was presented to Parliament today (9).
The Chief Government Whip, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, presented the report to Parliament.
The Whip further informed Parliament that this report has been submitted to remove Mr. Janaka Ratnayake from that position under the provisions of Public Utilities Commission Act No. 35 of 2002.
The Power and Energy Minister, Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, severely criticized Mr. Rathnayake’s on many occasions recently.
