Nissanka Senadhipathi released

The Colombo High Court today ordered the release of two accused, including Avant-Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd, Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi, from the bribery case filed against the Avant-Garde floating armoury.
Accordingly, High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja ordered the release of Avant-Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi and Maj. Gen. Palitha Fernando after, the Bribery Commission decided to withdraw the indictments.
The Bribery Commission had filed indictments against two accused of allegedly offering a bribe of Rs.35.5 million concerning the Avant-Garde floating armoury transaction.
The Director-General of Bribery Commission had filed indictments against two accused on 47 counts under sections 17, 19, 21 and 25 of the Bribery Commission Act.
