No fuel price hike, Finance Ministry to pay CEB’s debts

The Government has declined to revise the fuel prices, as requested by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
During the special Cabinet meeting held last night, the President directed the officials to ensure direct fuel supplies to the Ceylon Electricity Board.
In the meantime, the Finance Ministry agreed to settle Rs 80 billion owed y the Ceylon Petroleum from the Electricity Board.
