Northern lawyers protest, demanding a full-scale investigation into the issue involving Mulaitivu Magistrate
Lawyers in the Northern Province boycotted judicial activities today, demanding a thorough investigation be conducted regarding the threats posed to Mullaitivu Magistrate T. Saravanarajah.
They also demanded that measures be taken to ensure the safety of the magistrates and the independence of the judiciary.
Due to the absence of lawyers from the proceedings, the daily activities of the courts in the province were disrupted.
The lawyers representing the Mullaitivu Bar will continue their campaign until a proper investigation is conducted into the threats posed to Mullativu Magistrate T. Sarvanarajah.
