The Embassy of the Netherlands in Sri Lanka has organised an event to launch the campaign on “Orange the World: 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” on Thursday, 25 November 2021 in Colombo. “Orange the World” is an international campaign existing since 1991 to raise attention for and take action against violence against women and girls. Worldwide, an estimated 1 in 3 women will experience physical or sexual abuse in her lifetime.
Ambassador Tanja Gonggrijp will ride the bicycle to deliver “Orange The World” banners to embassies, (international) organisations and companies to raise awareness during this significant campaign. On her way, several other ambassadors and stakeholders will join her on their bicycles to deliver the banners during the event.
