Podi Lassi was remanded, under judicial custody.

  Colombo Chief Magistrate today remanded underworld figure Janith Madushanka, alias Podi Lassi, until January 4. Podi Lassie was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika C. Ragala by the Criminal Investigations Department for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and offences relating to firearms. Podi Lassie was detained at the Boossa Prison and produced before Court after the expiration of his detention order. Podi Lassi is a suspect in a case filed against him over the death threats made in public at the Boossa Prison against the President, the Defence Secretary and certain high-ranking officers of the Prisons Department.
