Police curfew imposed in several Police divisions after a civil commotion triggered in Colombo suburbs, lifted at 5.00 this morning
The curfew came into effect a few hours after angry crowds stormed the Mirihana residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, demanding him to resign.
Police last night imposed a curfew in Colombo North, Colombo Central, Colombo South, Nugegoda and Kelaniya Police divisions to disperse the angry crowds demanding basic supplies uninterrupted.
One person sustained injuries as an unidentified person opened fire. A bus belonging to the security forces had been set ablaze but not unclear who was responsible.
In Kelaniya, the main Kandy road was blocked near Dalugama by the protestors.
