Policeman remanded

The Policeman who assaulted the lorry driver in Pannipitya yesterday has been remanded. The Policeman in question assaulted a lorry driver after the driver got involved in an accident that caused severe injuries to the Traffic Officer-In-Charge of the Maharagama Police. A video with scenes of the assault went viral on social media. When both the Policeman and the driver were produced before the Magistrate, the Court remanded the Policeman until April 5 and released the driver on bail.
