President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said that it would be better if the three Ministers who openly violated the collective responsibility of the Cabinet resigned.

He was addressing the heads of Newspaper organisations

The President was openly speaking about the three ministers for the first time who lobbied against the agreement for the sale of shares of the Yughadanavi Liquid Natural Gas power plant.

The Ministers Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Udaya Gammanpila and Wimal Weerawansa had openly expressed their views against the Cabinet decision to sell Yughadanavi shares to New Fortress Energy Company of the United States.

The President said that during the Presidency of President Premadasa Supreme Court Judge, Justice Mark Fernando had delivered an order regarding the collective responsibility of the Ministers and concluded that Ministers Lalith Athulathmudali and G M Premachandra had violated the cabinet responsibility.
