President Gotabaya Rajapakse said that he would take tough decisions to put the country back on track and ease the burden on the people.
Addressing the Nation on Wednesday night, the President said that he appointed an Economic Council to explore ways and means to resolve the present crisis.
He told the people to place confidence in him, and he would deliver all the pledges given to the people during the rest of his period.
“You asked for a secure country and a better tomorrow for the children, and I will fulfil all your aspirations.”
The President referring to the discussions he had with the IMF, said he would examine all the problems we may face before working with the IMF.
Eventually, he requested the people to use fuel and electricity frugally to overcome the present situation.
