Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has urged the government to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to launch a probe on the people whose names came to light through the Pandora papers.
Pandora papers have already revealed the names of former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband, Tirukumar Nadesan.
It has also given details of an offshore company owned by the duo.
The Opposition leader states in addition to the PSC, a special committee with extensive powers should be appointed to investigate the Pandora scam.
Amassing money through illegal means, tax evasions, money laundering secret monetary deals have come to light through the Pandora papers. He added.
It is a grave matter of serious concern that the government is still maintaining a deafening silence about the revelation that has come to light in international forums. The leader of the opposition said.
Meanwhile, JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha Herathhas urged the government to reveal the names of the stakeholders of the offshore company floated by the prominent Sri Lankans.
