A professional diver dies after being attacked by a crocodile off the coast of Dehiwala

A professional diver from Kaldemulla Ratmalana was attacked by a crocodile off the coast of Dehiwala today. He was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries but died soon after. He has gone on a diving spree with several others in the morning, and the others returned to the sea beach around 10.30 am. Several fishermen who were returning saw a crocodile dragging a person into the deep sea and informed the other divers. They promptly acted to rescue their colleague. Though the others acted promptly to rescue the victim, he died on admission to the hospital. The deceased is Jayantha Peiris(50) of Kaldemulla Ratmalana.
