A group representing the Galle Face Green protestors had an audience with the Chief Prelate of the Malwatte Chapter.
They handed over a document to the prelate containing their demands and requested the Maha Sangha to issue a Sangha writ against the government. They also asked the Maha Sangha to refrain from attending any state functions and remove all titles bestowed on the politicians.
Earlier, the Malwatte prelate decided to shun all politicians since they ignored the suggestions made by the Maha Sangha to the government to salvage the country from the present impasse.
