The Public Utilities Commission has laid down eleven conditions for the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Lanka Electricity Company following their directive to reduce electricity tariffs by an overall amount of 14.2 percent.
The PUCSL has told both the CEB and LECo to immediately invest the security deposits obtained from the people, and returns should be used to deduct the individual bills of the electricity consumers.
It has also directed the two institutions to effect payments to the renewable energy sources that have been added to the national grid, including rooftop renewable energy sources.
