UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said that UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had only two shirts and two pairs of trousers when the people involved in the conflict set fire to his residence on July 9.
“It is difficult to imagine where this nation would be now if he had quit as prime minister”, Wijewardene said.
Speaking to a group of people in Kuliyapitiya, Wijewardene claimed that since Wickremesinghe was elected president, lines for fuel at filling stations had disappeared and gas prices had dropped.
Never before has the electricity bill been so low. Future benefits for the nation will result from this. He is the only leader with a vision, he said.
