Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe visited Harin Fernando in hospital on Tuesday to inquire about his wellbeing.
Mr Wickremesinghe told reporters it is disturbing to observe when Parliamentarians are harassed by the government on the pretext of probing the Eater Sunday attacks.
“There is information now that they are trying to take action against him on something happened in his Ministry. It appears now either the government is trying to connect two entirely different things or trying to arrest him on a fresh charge when one fails”. Parliamentarians should be allowed to work without any hindrance.
