Train services on the renovated railway line from Anuradhapura to Omanthai, which was closed for the last six months due to modernization, will resume July 15.
The railway line was officially opened (14) by Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena.

The railway line has been completely renovated, and new sleepers and tracks were laid.
The trains on the renovated line can speed up to 100 kph. However, trains will run at a speed of 80 kmph during the next few days.
The project was funded by India under the Indian Credit Line.
