Retail distributors are up in arms over the huge gap in petroleum prices among large distributing entities.

Retail dealers engaged in the distribution of petroleum products have vowed to take stern action unless the government introduces a formula for all petroleum-distributing companies to sell their products at a uniform price.
The retail distributors association has written to the Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy that strict action will be taken if the price of fuel is not brought to the same level in all institutions selling fuel in Sri Lanka.
The President of the Petroleum Retail Distributors Association has stated that if a conducive environment is not created to sell fuel at the same price or with a slight difference to allow competitiveness, all retail distributors will take concerted action as an association in the forthcoming fuel price revision.
