Retired judge V.K. Malalgoda appointed HRCSL Chairman

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, on Friday (30), appointed retired judge V.K. Malalgoda as the new Chairman and a member of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL).

S.Y.M. Gomis, A.L.A. Azeez, Dr S.S.S.B.D.H. Jayawardena and Professor T. Jeyasingam have been appointed as the other members of the Commission.

Presidential Secretary Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake handed over the letters of appointment to the new members at the Presidential Secretariat on Friday afternoon.

The appointments were made to fill vacancies created following the expiry of the terms of the previous members of the Human Rights Commission.
