Six suspects were remanded for allegedly attacking the vehicle parade carrying the portrait of Dilipan

Six suspects who were arrested on charges of attacking a vehicle parade carrying the portrait of Dilipan and injuring 14 people, including parliamentarian S Kajendran, at Sardapura in the Trincomalee district on Sunday were ordered to be remanded until September 21 by Trincomalee Additional Magistrate Annathurai Darshini.
The magistrate made this order when the suspects were produced before the court yesterday.
Several parliamentarians took part in the vehicle parade from the east to the north in remembrance of Dileepan.
This parade came under attack by a group of protestors on Sunday at Sardhapura, and the suspects were arrested by the police based on the complaint made by parliamentarian S. Kajendran to the police.
