SLMA recommends a third Jab for immunosuppressed persons

All persons over the age of sixty years of age and those between 18-60 years of age with co-morbidities should be vaccinated with any available vaccines as the first priority, states a report issued by the Expert Committee of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA)
An active effort must be made to achieve coverage in this group as early as possible, the report further states.
The SLMA Expert Committee recommends the administration of a Pfizer/AstraZeneca/Moderna(spikevax) vaccine as a 3rd dose to immunosuppressed persons.
According to SLMA recommendations, the third dose should be given 28 days after the second dose.
