Speaker to announce the SC determination on the Port City Bill

The Speaker is likely to announce the Supreme Court determination on the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill when Parliament meets tomorrow.

A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya examined the numerous petitions filed Challenging the constitutionality of the CPCEC Bill.

The Supreme Court concluded the hearing of the arguments on the Bill on the 23rd of April.
