Sri Lanka's Army hands over troop carriers to the STF for future UN peacekeeping operations

The Sri Lanka Army handed over personnel carriers (APC) and Police Crowd Control Vehicles (PCCV) manufactured by the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Division to the Sri Lanka Police at the Army Headquarters premises.
The vehicles were manufactured for the use of Special Task Force (STF) troops of the Sri Lanka Police to perform their tasks effectively in future United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.
Those APC and PCCV vehicles were produced locally using the technical expertise of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering troops, saving a large amount of foreign currency for the government and the Army, as they were produced using imported spares on par with international standards to match UN specifications.
