Tariff increases will cushion the losses incurred by the CEB
October 21, 2023

CEB Acting General Manager Dr. Narendra De Silva said that there will be no electricity tariff revisions again until June 1 next year.
He added that power tariffs will not be increased before June next year unless there is an exceptional situation, such as a drought or an increase in the price of crude oil in the world market.
The Acting General Manager said that the estimated loss of Rs 18 billion that will be incurred by the Electricity Board this year (2023) will be made possible by the electricity tariff revision made yesterday (20).
