Three female Senior Superintendents of Police have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General of Police. The Police Headquarters announced.
This is the first occasion where three female DIG’s have been appointed at the same time.The three new female DIG’s are Ms. Renuka Jayasundara, Ms. Nishanthi Seneviratne and Ms.Padmini Weerasuriya
Altogether there are four female DIG’s in the Sri Lanka Police.The earlier appointment was that of Mrs Bimshani Jayasinghearachchi.
The Police Women and Children bureau will be headed by Ms. Renuka Jayasundara, while Ms Nishanthi Seneviratne will head the Research and development division and Ms. Padmini will be in charge of the Police welfare division.
