Retired Major General Palitha Fernando took over as the Secretary to the Ministry of Disaster management.
Earlier, General Fernando served at the Rakna Lanka a, security outfit set up under the auspices of the government.
Meanwhile, the government appointed retired Major General M.R.W De Soysa to take over the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal Ltd as its Chairman.
