Wildlife and forest conservation officials in the Jaffna peninsula have been asked to release land acquired after I985.

Wildlife and Forest Conservation Department officials have been given instructions to immediately release the lands in the Jaffna Peninsula acquired after 1985 for resettlement and restart cultivation and fisheries activities.
At a special meeting held at the Parliament, chaired by Ministers Pvithra Wanniarachchi and Douglas Devananda, it was revealed that lands that could be released have already been identified and mapped out through G.P.S. technology.
