A group of wildlife veterinarians led by the Wildlife Department Director, Dr. Tharaka Prasad, and lecturers from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Peradeniya University were present today to review the health condition of Tusker Agbo.
The treatment of Agbo, who was seriously injured by a trap gun, commenced on June 12 and is still being carried out by the team, including Wildlife Veterinarian in Charge of Anuradhapura Region Chandana Jayasinghe,
This medical team treated the elephant after a five-hour operation. X-ray and scan tests were also conducted after putting Agbo to sleep.
