Court to rule on Namal Rajapaksa bail application on November 3

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court will deliver its order on November 3 on the bail application filed on behalf of MP Namal Rajapaksa, who is in remand custody over allegations linked to the Krrish transaction.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama, on Wednesday, fixed the date after considering submissions made by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and lawyers appearing for Rajapaksa.
Rajapaksa has been remanded over allegations that he accepted a Rs. 100 million bribe in connection with facilitating the transfer of land at Transworks Square in Colombo Fort to the Krrish company for a mixed-development project.
Meanwhile, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
He was reported to have sought the removal of an overseas travel ban imposed in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.
