There had been more than a dozen deaths reported during the past 24 hours throughout the country according to Police.
Police sources said that 14 deaths and 121 road accidents had taken place in various places across the country.
On the Expressways alone there had been 12 accidents and 109 accidents on the other roads.
A total of 53 motorcycle accidents and 33 three-wheeler accidents had been reported during the past 24-hours.
Meanwhile Police said more than 750 drivers had been arrested for driving under the influence of liquor.
