An advanced-level student fell off the train while answering a call on the footboard of a train

A student who was answering a call on his mobile phone while travelling on the footboard of a train plying to Anuradhapura from Colombo died after he fell from the train near Deduruoya Bridge. The deceased is a 16-year-old A/L student at Thirappane. He was returning from his aunt's place in Ragama. The deceased student's elder brother had told the police that his younger brother had gone to the footboard of the train to answer a call on his mobile and that he collided with the iron support railings of the Deduruoya bridge and fell from the train. The student who sustained serious injuries had been pronounced dead upon admission to the hospital.
