AG directs IGP to expedite criminal investigations

Speedy dispensation of justice vital
The Attorney General has directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to expedite all matters connected to criminal investigations and that of drug related cases.
In a letter addressed to the IGP on the 9th instant the AG has said that all the Police Officers in-charge of such investigations be directed to complete them within a period of three months and extracts forwarded to the AG.
This move has necessitated in a bid to expedite the process of disposing of cases at its earliest since otherwise the rights of the victims are in jeopardy.
If the Police are unable to accomplish this duty with the given time frame they should furnish valid reasons for such delay the AG has emphasized.
