Agriculture Department to issue firearms to the farmers to protect their crops

Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera today instructed the Agricultural Development Department to take steps to reissue arms and ammunition to farmers to protect their crops.

The Commissioner General of Agricultural Development is expected to hold a discussion with the Defence Ministry in this regard soon.
