Archbishop calls for justice rejects ad hoc committees
February 21, 2021

Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has convened a meeting of all Catholic Parliamentarians for March 2 to discuss the recommendations made by the Commission on Easter Sunday attacks.
At the same time, the Archbishop has rejected the ministerial committee appointed by the President to study and make recommendations on the findings of the Presidential Commission on Easter Sunday attacks.
The Archbishop has said that he could not accept the committee but called for the report himself. He said that he will wait with utmost patience until he receives a copy.
The committee appointed by the President comprises Chamal Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga, Udaya Gammanpilaand Rohitha Abeygoonewardene
“ We don’t accept the system where they pick and choose what they want from the commission report after referring the same to another committee,” the Archbishop said.
If no proper action is taken to mete out justice we would be compelled to take the matter before an international forum for their attention
