Archbishop calls for PCoI report and called off the meeting with Catholic MP's
Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has told Catholic Parliamentarians a meeting with him is only possible if they could bring a copy of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) report into the Easter Sunday attack.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed yet another committee headed by Minister Chamal Rajapaksa recently to study the PCoI report and make recommendations.
Archbishop rejected the move saying that the Commission report has been the outcome of a long drawn inquiry and it should not be re-examined by another ad hoc committee.
Meanwhile, several Catholic Parliamentarians who have scheduled a meeting to have an audience with the Archbishop on the second of March has been called off after the Archbishop has emphatically told them that he was not willing to meet with any Parliamentarian unless they bring along with them an authentic copy of the PCoI inquiry into the Easter Sunday attack.
