Colombo Additional Magistrate LochanaAbeywickrama today ordered Police Children and Women’s Bureau to arrest all the suspects in the sexual exploitation case involving the 15-year-old girl, in Colombo.

The mother of the 15-year-old held in remand custody for aiding and abetting to commit the offence was today ordered to be released on two sureties of one million rupees.

Meanwhile, Additional Magistrate ordered the prison authorities to produce the three suspects including the Deputy Chairman of MihintalePradeshiya Sabha and a gem merchant before the court on Friday (9) for an identification parade. They are to make voluntary statements before Magistrate on that date.

A cardiologist attached to Welisara Navy Camp arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old girl was yesterday ordered to be remanded till July 19.

Police Children and Women’s Bureau has already arrested 32 suspects including the girl’s mother, former State Minister of Finance of Maldives Mohamed Ashmalee, Deputy Chairman of the Mihintale Pradeshiya Sabha, Manager of the Hotel and a leading gem merchant in connection with the crime for over three months.
