CEB promoted a lady engineer one day prior to her retirement.

  The Ceylon Electricity Board has promoted a lady engineer to the post of Additional General Manager, the second most sought-after position in the CEB. Just for one day. The promotion was approved by the Board on August 14 for a retiring Deputy General Manager who was scheduled to go on retirement the next day, on August 15. Employees say that the aim is to draw an enhanced pension.
