China to donate 300,000 Sino pharma vaccines

Sri Lanka is likely to get another 300,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines from China. According to officials it will come as a donation from China. Meanwhile President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will be at the Katunayke airport tomorrow to receive the consignment of 500,000 Astra Zenica covishield vaccine which would arrive from India.
Government officials in the meantime said that the vaccines will be administered to the public free of charge and that the private sector would not be allowed to import the vaccine.
In another development it has been reported that State Minister Arundhika Fernando is also infected with Covid 19 virus.
