India Has insisted that Sri Lanka abide by the Memorandum of Cooperation (NoC) signed between the two countries in May 2019.

This was following Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's assertion that 100 percent of the East Container Terminal of the Colombo Port will be held by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority..

Prime Minister Rajapaksa told the Port Trade Unions that the SLPA will hold on to the Eastern Terminal.and there is no change in the decision
