The Kankasanthurai police said eight people were arrested for posting the video on the Tik Tok social media platform.
10 days ago, after the video footage of a 54-year-old man being attacked by a group of people with sharp weapons, including swords, was circulated on Tik Tok social media, the Kankasanthurai Division Criminal Investigation Division started a special investigation and arrested the eight suspects.
The victim was seriously injured and admitted to Pt. Pedro Hospital, and then transferred to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment. The doctors say his condition is serious.
