Dehiwala zoo recives three ‘Double Wattled Cassowaries’

Dehiwala Zoo received three ‘Double Wattled Cassowaries’ from Thailand under the animal exchange programme.

These species of flightless birds, which grow to a height of about 5 feet, were brought to the BIA by a Malaysian Airline flight.

Several species of Sri Lankan monkeys and a Sri Lankan jungle fowl also will take a flight to Thailand under the Animal Exchange Programme.
