Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena has issued notices ordering 10 doctors who served on a medical board examining former State Intelligence Service Director, retired Major General Suresh Salley, to appear in court on 6 October.
The order was issued after the court considered submissions made by the Criminal Investigation Department through a motion.
Salley, who was arrested in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks, is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Colombo.
The Fort Magistrate’s Court was recently informed that Salley had developed an enlargement of the heart and that a medical device had been implanted to manage the condition.
The information was contained in a report submitted by the medical board that examined his health condition.
