Elephant turns hostile during Kandy Perahera.

Elephant carrying the casket of the Kataragama Devalaya ran amok last night during the Randoli Perahera of the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic)in Kandy. The unruly elephant caused panic among the people, but the situation returned to normal soon after. Reports said five elephants parading in the Kataragama Devalaya Perahera turned hostile before joining main Randoli Perahera.
