FIFA bans Sri Lanka

FIFA bans Sri Lanka due to third-party interference as the Minister of Sports deviated from the agreed roadmap and interfered in the Jan 14 FFSL elections including on many other occasions. This circular is issued to all 211 member countries worldwide. A strongly worded letter has been sent to FFSL former secretary Upali Hewage with a copy to Jaswar Umar

. FIFA has stated that it will not recognize the elected office bearers and the elections.
