Four police teams have been deployed to investigate the murder of businessman Lalith Wasantha Mendis in China Fort, Galle, yesterday night.
The victim is the father-in-law of State Minister D. V. Chanaka. Two gunmen who followed his jeep had opened fire at his jeep, killing him on the spot.
Police said that the businessman was returning home after closing his clothing store in Galle town.
Investigations are being carried out under the close supervision of Southern Province DIG Sanjeewa Medawatte.
