Fuel price increase in the offing

The Cabinet sub-committee on the cost of living has given the green light to revise fuel prices. Accordingly, the fuel prices will be increased to offset the losses incurred by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. The date of the fuel price revision is likely to be announced shortly, The pandemic situation in the country has prevented them from announcing the exact date since it could lead to longer queues in petrol sheds the concerned Minister has reportedly told the media. Annually the government incurs a sum of $3 billion on fuel imports. According to the Minister.
