GMOA asks for duty-free cars

Members of the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has requested the Minister of Finance for duty concessionary vehicles for doctors without delay.
In a letter written to the Minister of Finance, Secretary to the GMOA Dr. Senal Fernando has stated a vehicle in good condition is essential to provide transport and discharge their duties.
The GMOA at the same time has suggested taking steps to release permit vehicles already in port. Allow those who have opened LC’s and failed to import a vehicle to re-open LCs with a 360-day forex credit and allow those who have obtained their permits and has not opened LCs to open LCs in a given time frame.
