Government launches Rs. 2.5 billion revenue-generating development programme

The Government will launch a series of revenue-generating development projects worth Rs. 2.5 billion across Sri Lanka from Friday under the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
The programme aims to strengthen local economies and improve social conditions in communities across the country.
The projects will be implemented under the national “Punarudaya Purawara” programme.
The first phase will begin in Madurankuliya in Puttalam and Agunukolapelessa, with the participation of the Minister and Deputy Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
More than 100 projects covering a range of sectors are expected to be implemented under the programme.
